Our Philosophy, Our Intentions
A Fascination with Place
The Medina family have enthusiastically supported the mission of dry-farmed, terroir-first wines since their very first vintage in 2024. We take a measured approach in the winery, avoiding any methods in handling the fruit that would minimize or impede upon the true spirit of the wine. In a world of synthetics, and "artificial," isn't it nice to finally find something that comes from a real place in the world, where you could stand and breathe? We believe if our representation of our vines' terroir is faithful, then our wines can take you to that place. And this is why terroir has the power to lure us in - because places are real and places have meaning.
Why dry-farm?
The Willamette Valley is blessed with abundant rain year-in and year-out, and many of our finest wine-growing regions feature soils that make the most of this rain even during droughts.
By abstaining from irrigating our vines, Medina wines can therefore better deliver on the promise of terroir, highlighting the different conditions vines will face along a slope, where depth to bedrock - and, consequently, water availability - can vary, creating complexity and nuance in the wines from parcel to parcel and vintage to vintage.
So because our grapes are only raised on rain water, our wines really are "del Cielo a la Tierra," from the skies to the land.

Our family, like the vines we work with, has roots to be proud of. Like many families to live a multi-cultural experience, we believe that this willingness to live with color and joy is something others will be able to relate to, as well.
This color and warmth can make a day-and-night difference to our quality of life.... "del Cielo a la Tierra," you might say!
Our family believes that good wine should be attainable to anyone who has an interest. We also believe that today, more than ever, wine has never been more important.
